About Us

Since 1920 | 4 Generations | 100+ Years of Athangudi Excellence

A Century of Craft. A Lifetime of Devotion.

The story of Athangudi tiles begins in the heart of Chettinad, where artistry was born not from trade alone, but from culture, pride, and lived tradition. Since 1920, our family has preserved the authentic tile-making craft — a process untouched by machinery, chemicals, or mass automation.

Over 100 years later, Athangudi tiles are still made with soil, sunlight, water, and skill — nothing more.

Where tradition doesn’t just survive it thrives.

Our family has protected every detail of the process with devotion:

no machines, no shortcuts, no compromise in authenticity. Every pattern is hand-poured into glass molds, every pigment is naturally blended, and every tile is sun-cured under Chettinad’s skies — just as our ancestors did a century ago.

For four generations, artisans in our family have risen with the sun, prepared pigment trays, poured designs, and polished surfaces until they gleam like glass. The mirror-finish you see is not factory gloss — it is hours of handwork, layer by layer, stroke by stroke.

A tile is touched by the sun before it touches your home.

Every tile begins in a glass frame — pigment poured like paint on canvas. Our artisans shape, guide, and perfect each line of color with calm precision. When the pattern settles, the tiles are laid out beneath the Chettinad sun, absorbing warmth, strength, texture, and tone.

Eco-Friendly Craft

No furnace flames, no toxic glazes, no plastic coating — Athangudi tiles are earth-made and sun-cured, leaving zero carbon residue and zero pollution.

Built to Last Decades

Dense, moisture-resistant, and hand-compacted, these tiles withstand decades of foot traffic without losing their foundational strength or surface polish.

Natural Color That Never Fades

Each tile pigment settles deep into the surface, not just on it — ensuring colors remain vivid and luminous even after years, sunlight, and daily wear.

Handmade, Never Mass-Produced

From stencil pouring to final polish, every tile is crafted by skilled hands – not stamped, printed, or factory programmed – making each piece uniquely human.
